Audience Consideration
"The Malice of Redner" aims to captivate sci-fi enthusiasts, lovers of character-driven storytelling, and audiences intrigued by philosophical explorations of identity, memory, and what it means to be human. Set against the backdrop of a fractured future—where artificial sentience and synthetic memory challenge the fabric of truth—our story invites viewers into a cerebral and emotionally rich world shaped by ethical dilemmas and raw human consequence.
We believe in the power of storytelling to inspire and connect.
We plan to engage our target audience through a multi-tiered strategy combining genre-specific marketing, curated film festival entries, and a dynamic social media presence. Our digital campaign will emphasize Redner’s unique tone and vision through atmospheric teasers, layered character introductions, concept art, and thought-provoking behind-the-scenes features that highlight the creative process.
We’ll foster conversation through interactive Q&As, creator commentary, and discussion threads about the show’s central questions—Can a machine carry guilt? Can a lie be real if it saves lives? This approach transforms passive viewers into invested participants, building a community around the narrative.
By positioning The Malice of Redner not just as entertainment, but as a discussion point within the broader sci-fi canon, we aim to cultivate a loyal fanbase—one that sees the pilot not as a standalone episode, but as the beginning of a deeper journey.
Accountability and Community
The world of The Malice of Redner may challenge morality, but our filmmaking process is rooted in it.
Behind the screen, we’re just as committed to integrity and accountability as we are to crafting a compelling story. Our approach is built on the belief that powerful narratives should never come at the expense of the people who bring them to life. From cast to crew to collaborators, every participant is treated not just as a contributor—but as a stakeholder in the creative journey.
Core Values Driving Our Process:
Integrity in Storytelling: We are transparent in our creative decisions, ensuring that the narrative stays honest—even when the story explores the blurred lines between reality and illusion.
Respect in Practice: We foster a work environment that protects the dignity, safety, and voices of everyone involved.
Radical Inclusivity: Diversity isn’t a checkbox—it’s a cornerstone. Our team actively seeks out and uplifts underrepresented perspectives, both on and off camera.
Accountability in Action:
Informed Consent as a Living Practice: Consent isn’t one-and-done. Our team maintains clear, ongoing communication with everyone involved—sharing updates, managing expectations, and always allowing space for feedback and reassessment.
Community-Driven Feedback Loops: Through open discussions, surveys, and collaborative touchpoints, we shape the project not in isolation, but in dialogue—with each other and with our audience.
Ethical Reflection as Routine: Regular check-ins allow us to step back and examine our process, making space for correction, care, and course-adjustment when necessary.
Sustainable Creativity: Mental and physical well-being are prioritized. Resources for self-care, emotional support, and work-life balance are embedded into the culture we’re building.
This isn’t just filmmaking—it’s intentional creation. By embedding ethics into every layer of our process, The Malice of Redner doesn’t just tell a meaningful story—it becomes one.

Episode Summaries
Season One
Redner is the most sought-after mercenary in the Council for a great while, until he takes them all on in an effort to protect Victor. Redner has just barely begun his journey to becoming a good soul, but it's going to be a rough one.
Redner finds a good source of blood to fuel his bionics, but not enough to sustain him indefinitely. He calls Victor, hoping to get more from his home-world, but Victor is intercepted by the ship of the Council Remnants, and nearly dies in the attempt to deliver the blood.
After several days of acting a good person, Redner breaks down and returns to his violent ways. Victor and Avery try to bring him back home, but it seems too late to convince him. Victor just makes a video game.
Redner tires of living on the run. Mickey prompts him to return home. Redner uses this time to expand his businesses. Victor hires a film crew to help with his latest project, but they are quickly picked off by a rifle from far above. We learn that this is the work of Avatars, strange, glass-like beings, seemingly with the intention to kill every member of the film crew and keep Redner in a small cabin while they complete their work.
Viewed almost entirely from the perspective of Ten and Harvey as incorporeal spirits. They watch over Redner in hisnew home, taking care of others. They find this most unusual, a mercenary becoming a defender of the good. They try to influence him otherwise.
Partly thanks to Ten and Harvey, Redner is now assigned to a new mercenary organization, and completes contracts in a dried-up, distant planet. He receives a great deal of protest from the citizens. They believe Redner threatens the innocent of the city, and Redner must prove them wrong.
Redner loses all belief in himself. He sets out to regain it, no matter what. Victor and Avery accompany him, but they quickly become separated by the joys of the city.
Redner forms a game studio. Nothing goes right, except for the fighting animations. Red's got that covered.
Redner is transported to another plane. One where his inner being is represented by the cosmic environment around him. He seems to be in a plane of stranded souls. Ones who have not yet found their purpose.
Victor James
Once a quiet accountant for the Council, Victor was marked for death to test Redner’s loyalty. But when he revealed the truth—that he was Redner’s son—it changed everything. Redner turned on the Council to protect him. Now, Victor runs a modest bar, finally free from tyranny. He trails his father across the stars, documenting Redner’s brutal philosophy in hopes of one day turning him into a legend—a hero, if he squints hard enough.
Avery Band
A former high-ranking scholar of the Council, Avery was the last anyone expected to defect. Though richly compensated and protected, he chose to side with Redner and Victor, haunted by a deeper truth. Long ago, he was injected with a serum that clouds his will—an affliction he hides behind quiet regret. Avery can commune with the dead. He’s noticed Redner does too. The difference is—Redner doesn’t find that unusual anymore.
Redner frequently speaks with the dead, not knowing that this is unusual. Avery catches him doing so at one point and asks Redner about it, but Redner is more distracted about the conversation he’s just had with the voice of his father. It is absolutely his father’s soul speaking to him from beyond. This is because Redner has been closer to death than most. He has become entranced by it. He’s found a kind of romance in it, so the dead are more likely to speak with him.
